Become a Waypoint Advisor

Two ways to be part of the Waypoint ecosystem.

Every advisor in the Waypoint ecosystem shares the same goal: help business owners get clear on what they want their business to do for them, and help them get there.

Choose your path

Referring Advisors

Referring Advisors already have something incredibly valuable: the owner's trust.

They are bankers, insurance professionals, wealth and retirement advisors, IT providers, CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals who work closely with business owners every day.

Their primary expertise and full-time role may live outside Waypoint. They don't need to become business coaches, hold fractional C-suite positions, or learn how to interpret every part of the Waypoint Index or Readiness Score.

They simply recognize when an owner could benefit from greater clarity and make the introduction.

Waypoint helps their client see the bigger picture. And when opportunities surface that require their expertise, Waypoint helps connect the owner back to the professionals they already trust.

Refer owners in. Receive opportunities out. Strengthen the relationship in between.

Waypoint Certified Advisors

Waypoint Certified Advisors go deeper.

They are trained to use the Waypoint platform and Business Owner Journey to help owners turn information and data into clarity, and clarity into action.

They lead discovery conversations designed to uncover what the owner actually wants their business to do for them.

They understand how to interpret the business's unique 12 Waypoint themes, recognize the connections or sometimes disconnects between leadership, culture, financial performance, customers and the owner's goals, and help determine where attention will create the greatest impact.

Most importantly, they sit in a unique seat in the owner's world. Their only agenda is the owner's agenda.

They aren't there to sell an insurance policy, manage assets, secure a loan, implement software or win another engagement.

They have one job: help the owner decide where they want to go and help them keep moving toward it.

One ecosystem. Different roles. Same destination.

Both types of advisors are critical to Waypoint and the Business Journey. Both introduce owners to the ecosystem. Both receive introductions when their expertise can help. And both contribute to a vetted network built around one simple idea: the business should ultimately serve the life and goals of its owner, not the other way around.

Some owners will use the clarity Waypoint creates and execute the plan themselves. Others will want someone beside them. That's where a Certified Advisor comes in.

Join the Waypoint Collective

If you want to be part of helping owners figure out what they want and helping them get there, we'd like to learn more about you.

Start by telling us about yourself.

  1. 1

    Tell us about yourself

Your experience, strengths and areas of expertise.

  2. 2

    Have a conversation

With a Waypoint Collective Advisor, about the owners you are best equipped to serve.

  3. 3

    Mutual due diligence

Short, and critical. It runs both ways.

  4. 4

    Approved advisors get access

The Waypoint advisor platform and the wider ecosystem.

From there, you'll schedule a conversation with a Waypoint Collective Advisor. We'll learn about your experience, strengths, areas of expertise and the types of owners you are best equipped to serve.

Following a short but critical mutual due-diligence process, approved advisors receive access to the Waypoint advisor platform and ecosystem, including:

  • Waypoint training and educational content
  • Peer collaboration
  • Advisor resources and tools
  • Referral opportunities
  • Opportunities to serve Waypoint owners
  • Access to the broader Waypoint professional network

You don't have to be everything to an owner.

You just have to know where you can help and be surrounded by people who can help everywhere else.
